Q: What is your view as regards the annual Children's Day celebrations?
A: The Children's Day is a day set aside to celebrate our children and as a government we felt that it is important for us to identify with the young ones to let them now that we care about them and we need to go back to the basis and introduce sports competitions among public schools so that they will be more committed and disciplined because while I was growing up, these were some of the things we practised and I benefited from it.
In Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, we need to restore the lost glory by encouraging our children, this is the second edition and we will continue to improve on it.
In the last four years, we have continued to add value to the educational sectors by constructing new blocks of classrooms, renovating existing ones and also taking a step further to provide scholarships and encourage sports competitions to display excellence among our youth which will prepare them for the future. We have a lot of plans for the youth and immediately we resume office for a second term, we will unveil them and this includes the construction of modern schools, I mean schools that can compete globally and we will introduce digital learning, more concentration will be made on the youth because they are the future leaders of our society.
Q: The July council election is around the corner, why should the electorate vote for you?
A: I must appreciate God for his support and also appreciate our party leaders at the State and Local Government levels for giving me the opportunity to serve the people.
In the last four years as a government, we have been able to touch critical areas and I can assure you if given the privilege to serve the people for a second term, I will continue to put smiles on the faces of the people through projects that will upscale the fortunes of the Local Government.
On this note, I will not disappoint the electorate if given the mandate a second time.
